About the Role

A fulltime position is available with the hours of operation for this position being an 80-hour fortnight between 7:00am to 8:30pm Monday to Sunday.

The successful applicant will be expected to deliver timely and accurate records and information management support services through fulfilment of duties that include but are not limited to filing of clinical health information, retrieval, storage, location movements and all and any other related duties that support records management and movements of all clinical health information.

About the Service

The Clinical Records Department provides clinical records support services across the Waikato Hospital each day. These records must be reliably and readily available to internal stakeholders (Emergency Department, Wards, Outpatient Clinics, Auditors, and Clinicians etc.) and/or the patient directly. These records must meet the requirements set out in The Public Records Act 2005 and Archives NZ legislation.

 

About you

You will be physically fit and able to sustain a shift in this physical role handling documents and charts as well as pushing/pulling trollies, lifting and bending. You will be customer focussed with prior experience or exposure within information and records management, electronic records management, and data quality. You must have a commitment to work to a remarkably high quality and standard. Applicants need to pay attention to detail, use their initiative and work to a high degree of accuracy.


Applicants will need to clearly display strengths with managing multiple tasks, conflicting priorities, stepping up to help others, attention to detail and the ability to adapt at a moment’s notice. Your command of the English language must be clear and concise.


A well-honed working knowledge of computer-based systems, e.g., Microsoft Office suite and exposure or the willingness to undertake further education in relation to medical terminology is required. Previous experience with patient management software and/or systems is beneficial but not required. Please give a brief outline of your experience in relation to how it translates to this role within the required cover letter. Knowledge of hospital environments is an advantage.
