About the Role
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will contribute as an effective member of the Northland Pathology Services team, Auto-Lab (Haematology and Biochemistry) to provide a quality & safe pathology service that ensures timely, accurate results to pathology laboratory users. Participate in the receipt, documentation, registration, processing and reporting of all specimens, including those referred to other laboratories, as required by authorised policies and protocols.
You will also be required to perform other technical and operational duties normally expected of a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS such as those involving quality and safety or the efficient and effective operations of the laboratory service).

About you
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will have strong attention to detail and accuracy skills and have an ability to work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team.
- New Zealand Registered and licenced Medical Laboratory Scientist
- Work experience in a Medical Laboratory
- Work experience with Laboratory Information system
- Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member
- Whilst not essential, candidates that have a basic understanding of health/illness and prevention of infection and/or previous experience within a Healthcare setting are desired.
