Maori Nurse Educator - Waitematā
Te Whatu Ora Waitematā is seeking a skilled senior Māori Nurse Educator to join our workforce development programme, led by the Māori Director of Nursing. You’ll have the opportunity to inspire Māori nurses to study further, strengthen practice, and lead with confidence. Based at the Māori Nurses Hub at North Shore Hospital, you’ll work closely with the Māori Director of Nursing and contribute to kaupapa Māori initiatives in hospital and at local marae.
This full-time role supports Māori nurse development across our rohe. We’re looking for a senior Māori nurse with strong clinical and educational expertise, and current, active relationships with local whānau, manawhenua marae, hāpori Māori, and Hauora Māori providers.
Key Pou:
- Support Māori nurses to complete portfolios and move into senior roles
- Promote culturally safe, whānau-centred clinical practice grounded in Te Ao Māori
- Guide nurses to uphold professional, ethical, and legislative standards
- Advise on local nursing issues to improve clinical outcomes
