About the Role

As Management Accountant, you will work alongside Hospital and Specialist Services leaders in Taranaki, helping them understand their financial performance, make informed decisions, and spot opportunities early. You will be a trusted finance partner who enjoys getting to know people, building strong relationships, and making financial information clear and practical.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Finance function provides stewardship of public resources and supports clinical and operational leaders to deliver safe, effective and equitable health services. Management Accounting is a core part of the Finance function, embedding financial capability within services and supporting informed decision-making aligned to district, regional and national priorities.

About you

You will be a confident relationship-builder who enjoys working with people as much as working with numbers. You will be curious, practical and comfortable translating financial information into clear advice that helps managers and clinical leaders take action. You will bring:

·         A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.

·         Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, equivalent professional qualification, or currently working towards accreditation.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn trust and work well with managers, clinical leaders and finance colleagues.

·         Ability to explain financial information to managers, clinical leaders and other non-financial audiences.

·         Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience in healthcare, the public sector or another complex organisation would be an advantage.
