About the Role

Working closely with whānau and hospital services to provide appropriate culturally centred short term accommodation to carers with loved ones in hospital with priority to Manawataki Region.

To efficiently and effectively supervise the day to day functions of Te Whare Taurima, whānau accommodation service to the highest standard of care and manaakitanga.

Key responsibilities:

• Outcomes are whānau centred and responsive, put people at the heart of what we do.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a wider hospital team.
• Using initiative and judgement to ensure the smooth day to day running of the whare.
• Property maintained to the highest level of upkeep and care, striving for excellence through continuous improvement.
• Data entry and reporting, managing daily income and reconciliation of accounts ensuring high standards of quality, and accuracy
• Tikanga practice upheld and supported

About the Service

The Whare Taurima is a kaupapa that operates within Te Puna Oranga (TPO) Māori health service Waikato, Te Whatu Ora Waikato. The Kairuruku role is positioned within the Kaitiaki team.

The primary purpose of the Whare Taurima is to in still Kaitiakitanga, manaakitanga, whakamana, whakarongo, mauri pai, whakapakari, whakapono and kotahitanga
