Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of people affected by cancer? Cancer Support is seeking a dedicated health / clinical psychologist to join our dynamic team. We work closely with patients and their whaanau from the early suspicion of cancer through to the completion of treatment, providing vital psychological support every step of the way.
At Cancer Support, our mission is clear—to enhance the experience of people living with cancer by addressing all aspects of wellbeing and promoting equitable health outcomes. We work alongside social workers, cancer nurse specialists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic, patient-centered care.
As a psychologist in the team, you will deliver psychological assessments and interventions tailored to the unique needs of our patients. You will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely to remove psychological barriers to treatment and support optimal health outcomes. In addition to direct patient care, you will contribute to the growth and success of our team by providing case consultation and clinical supervision, facilitating staff training and professional development, engaging in service development initiatives, and participating in research and evaluation projects.
You will join a vibrant team based at Middlemore Hospital, including two social workers, an intern psychologist, and one other health psychologist. Our service operates across multiple locations to provide outpatient care, ensuring support is accessible to all who need it.
Essential:
- Registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Registration Board under the general or clinical scope, with a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Minimum 12 months practical experience in a health setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Hold a full clean driver's licence
