About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled physiotherapist to join our Adult Rehabilitation and Health of Older People team. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting patients through recovery, rehabilitation, and transition to independent or supported living, while upholding Te Whatu Ora’s vision of equitable and whaanau-centred care.
As a Core Clinician, you’ll deliver holistic assessments and therapeutic interventions as part of an interdisciplinary team. You’ll be instrumental in enhancing function and wellbeing, empowering patients and whaanau, and promoting self-management in a variety of settings — including inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and community-based services.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a caseload of adult and older clients requiring rehabilitation and restorative care
• Assess, plan, and deliver individualised treatment and support in partnership with patients and whaanau
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated, effective transitions of care
• Promote self-care and independence by educating patients and caregivers
• Use evidence-informed clinical reasoning to guide interventions
• Contribute to service improvement, teaching, and supervision of students or junior clinicians
About You
• NZ registered physiotherapist with a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Proven experience in adult rehabilitation, geriatrics, or a similar clinical setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Culturally responsive with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and reducing health inequities
• Organised, proactive, and collaborative in approach
• Passionate about supporting patients to achieve their functional goals and live meaningful lives
• A full drivers licence
