About the Role:
The General Surgical Department delivers secondary elective and acute services to the population of Counties Manukau region with a range of tertiary services including Vascular, Upper Gastrointestinal, Colorectal, Breast, Endocrine orthopaedic hands, plastics and general medicine (Winter Plan) We specialise in delivering care for patient post WHIPPLES and IVOR LEWIS. Our wards are equipped with state of the art equipment including eVitals. We have a dynamic team who enjoy a challenge and have a great sense of humour.
We are looking for enthusiastic Health Care Assistants to join the energetic and innovative team on Ward 34 East - General Surgical ward at Middlemore Hospital.
As a Health Care Assistant you will be required to provide clinical and non-clinical care to our patients. Our new team member must also be highly organised, able to prioritise, have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships with our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain excellent organization and prioritization in your tasks.
- Foster positive relationships with patients and their families.
Essential Qualifications:
- Health Care Assistant Level 4 Certificate or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in a hospital environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English.
