About the Role
We are seeking a consultant Orthopaedic Surgery Consultant to join our team at Waikato Hospital.
You will be part of a dynamic service delivering elective and acute care across Waikato Hospital and our peripheral sites, with participation in the on‑call roster. Subspecialty interests in or are highly valued. The role also includes teaching, audit, and quality‑improvement activities.
Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Whether you are an experienced consultant or newly starting your consultant career, you will play an important role in shaping the future of our service. No two weeks are the same—you will work across acute and elective surgery, outpatient clinics, teaching, and care for a diverse population of more than 860,000 people.
Thie position includes:
Acute and elective surgery
Outpatient clinics
Ward rounding on post-acute and elective patients
Education and training of Junior staff, and other professional groups
