About the Role
As a Consultant Nephrologist based at Whangārei Hospital, you will be part of a team of 7 supportive Nephrologists who deliver haemodialysis care to patients across Northland. Your responsibilities will include outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and the management of acute renal presentations.
This full-time permanent role, ideal for a recently qualified Consultant looking to contribute to a progressive team committed to patient-centred nephrology care. You'll be exposed to a wide range of cases in a supportive teaching and multidisciplinary environment.

About the Team/Service/Location
This service delivers treatment to Northland patients, including those receiving Home Haemodialysis and at our satellite units in our Bay of Islands and Kaitaia Hospitals.
Whangārei Hospital is the largest hospital in Northland, providing secondary care services for the region supported by three district hospitals in Kaitaia; Bay of Islands and Dargaville. Northland covers an area of 12,600 square kilometres and has a growing population of more than 190,000.

About you

To be considered, you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in an Internal Medicine vocational scope of practice. For more information about the MCNZ registration process, please visit www.mcnz.org.nz
You will also possess FRACP or an equivalent qualification. Trainees within a few months of completing FRACP training are also welcome to apply.
