Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) is looking for a full-time registered health professional to provide clinical supervision for our Pregnancy and Parental Service (PPS) based in Point Chevalier, Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland.

About the role:
This is a senior role which sits within the PPS leadership team. You will:
- provide day to day clinical supervision and scheduled professional supervision for the team.
- provide clinical and professional development support for health professionals and peer support specialists
- support and orientate new staff
- carry a small clinical caseload

About you:
You are an experienced, registered health professional (e.g. nursing, social work, addictions, psychology) who has leadership and clinical supervision experience.
You have a strengths and equity focus with a commitment to working with tāngata whai i te ora from a biopsychosocial approach with an understanding of hauora Māori models of care. You will have excellent clinical and communication skills as well as an ability to work autonomously, and accountably within a highly consultative, supportive team.
You will have:
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification (three (3) year degree or equivalent) in nursing, applied addictions studies, social work, or other related health field.
- Five (5) years’ clinical experience in the mental health and addiction treatment field
- Completed training in clinical supervision (or willingness to work towards this)
- An understanding and willingness to action Tiriti based partnership in daily clinical work
- A focus on equitable health outcomes for priority populations
- Full driver’s licence
- Legal right to work in Aotearoa New Zealand
- Excellent computer and time management skills
Preferred:
- Seven (7) years’ clinical experience in the mental health and addiction treatment field
- Relevant experience and training in clinical supervision and be a dapaanz accredited supervisor
- Experience of working with whānau in community settings and in providing evidence based clinical interventions
- An understanding of working from a harm reduction framework

CADS provides free community and inpatient treatment from several locations across Tāmaki Makaurau and is committed to empowering the community to reduce the harm associated with substance use and promote recovery and wellbeing.
PPS is a multi-disciplinary, regional team which works with pregnant people and parents of children under three years of age who are experiencing issues related to substance use. The whānau we work alongside are disconnected from health and social services and experiencing multiple and complex problems including family violence, physical and mental health issues, stigmatisation, housing insecurity, and other socio-economic concerns.
The aim of PPS is to improve outcomes for unborn and young children using evidence-based interventions to positively impact and enhance their health and wellbeing trajectories.
Our team provides assertive outreach and spends time developing a therapeutic relationship with tāngata whai i te ora and their whānau. We use a motivational, strengths based and client-led approach; are recovery focused, and practice within a whānau inclusive, child focussed framework. We also provide advocacy, education, service co-ordination and liaison, along with robust risk assessment and safety planning practices, in order to support this priority population to make significant changes and develop and maintain wellbeing and recovery.
