Your Role
This is a part-time, permanent position (0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week), working Monday to Friday. As a Chronic Pain Psychologist here at Waitematā, you will:
- Deliver psychological assessments and interventions tailored to support patients living with chronic pain.
- Work alongside specialist pain physicians, physiotherapists, and nurses, contributing your expertise to a dynamic and collaborative environment.
- Innovate and develop service models, ensuring our patients benefit from the latest evidence-based practices.
- Support research and quality improvement initiatives that advance our understanding and treatment of chronic pain.
- Provide consultation and training to staff, championing the role of psychology in pain management.

About You
We’re looking for a dedicated professional who:
- Is a registered psychologist (or eligible for registration) with the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
- Has expertise or a keen interest in chronic pain management and its psychological dimensions.
- Thrives in a multidisciplinary setting, bringing strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Is committed to patient-centred care and integrating evidence-based psychology into healthcare.
- Embraces innovation, research, and service improvement.
