About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Urology, you will utilise specialist nursing knowledge and expertise to provide patient centred care, across the continuum of care, to optimise the patient’s journey, improve equitable health outcomes and ensure excellent quality of care is provided to patients and whanau requiring Urology care.

You will provide expert clinical advice, information and specialty education for patients/whanau and other staff maintaining a Māori centric approach while leading quality improvement initiatives within the ward/unit/department.

The urology outpatient department at Te Tai Tokerau is a dynamic and patient-centred service dedicated to delivering high-quality, culturally responsive care to the Northland community. You will be working alongside a close-knit team of Senior Medical Officers, Registrars, Registered Nurses, and Clerical Team – all committed to providing excellence in urological care. We foster a collaborative, supportive environment where every team member is valued.

About you

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you would be someone that is skilled at relating to and building a rapport with others, and in maintaining harmonious and supportive working relationships and encourages teamwork, cooperation with a positive attitude.

  • New Zealand Registered Nurse with current practicing certificate
  • At least 7 years post registration experience
  • Relevant Post Graduate Diploma in specialty area
  • At least 3 years’ experience in relevant specialty area
  • Designated Senior Nurse PDRP or Expert PDRP (demonstrating clinical examples)
  • Certificate in Adult/Clinical Teaching
  • Full New Zealand driving licence
  • Master’s degree or working towards is desired
