The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist – Palliative Care to join our dynamic team based at Middlemore Hospital. In this senior nursing role, you will play a key role in supporting patients with life-limiting illnesses and their whaanau through the provision of expert clinical care, education, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver advanced clinical expertise to patients requiring palliative and end-of-life care across settings.
- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing and allied health colleagues.
- Collaborate with medical teams, hospices, primary care providers, and community services to ensure a coordinated, whaanau-centred approach.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development and service innovation.
- Advocate for culturally responsive care aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and health equity principles
About You:
- NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- 5+ years relevant clinical experience in NZ
- Oncology and Palliative Care experience preferred
- Proficient PDRP or higher
- Relevant Postgraduate qualification completed or near completion
