The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist – Palliative Care to join our dynamic team based at Middlemore Hospital. In this senior nursing role, you will play a key role in supporting patients with life-limiting illnesses and their whaanau through the provision of expert clinical care, education, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advanced clinical expertise to patients requiring palliative and end-of-life care across settings.
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing and allied health colleagues.
  • Collaborate with medical teams, hospices, primary care providers, and community services to ensure a coordinated, whaanau-centred approach.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development and service innovation.
  • Advocate for culturally responsive care aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and health equity principles

About You:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • 5+ years relevant clinical experience in NZ
  • Oncology and Palliative Care experience preferred
  • Proficient PDRP or higher
  • Relevant Postgraduate qualification completed or near completion
