About the Role
As our Clinical Nurse Specialist – Breast Service, you will deliver safe, clinically effective care to patients and their families/whānau. You will play a key role in coordinating care for individuals with cancer, supporting them and their carers throughout the entire care pathway.
This role is integral to championing high-quality healthcare that promotes equitable health outcomes. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the delivery of best-practice, patient-centred care.

About the Team / Service / Location
Waitematā is the largest Health District in New Zealand, with two acute admitting hospitals at North Shore and Waitakere. This role will be based at North Shore Hospital
About You
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will bring advanced clinical expertise, leadership capability, and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You will need to have:
- At least five years post registration, with contemporary current practice in care of patients receiving cancer treatment/care.
- Achieved RN Level 4 or equivalent with current portfolio
- Reputation for excellence in specialty and Interdisciplinary practice
- Confident in application of basic computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Windows and Excel and report writing
- Post graduate Certificate leading to Diploma in Nursing with evidence of advanced physical assessment, history taking diagnostic reasoning, and pharmacology knowledge
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and service development
Proven care coordination skills and confidence working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
You will be a mature, positive, proactive, and enthusiastic practitioner with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. A patient-focused, inclusive, and team-oriented approach is essential.
