About the Role
As the Charge Nurse Manager for the Assessment and Diagnostic Unit, you will provide strong, visible clinical and operational leadership within a fast-paced and high-performing environment. This is a pivotal leadership position where you will drive excellence in patient care delivery, oversee workforce management, and support quality improvement initiatives across the unit.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred care, while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture. With the support of a skilled and dedicated workforce, you will have the opportunity to shape service development, champion best practice, and make a meaningful impact on outcomes for our diverse community.
About the Team/Service/ Location
At North Shore Hospital, we are part of a dynamic and forward-thinking district, committed to delivering innovative healthcare to one of New Zealand’s most culturally diverse populations. The Assessment and Diagnostic Unit plays a vital role in supporting timely patient assessment, care coordination, and flow across the hospital.
About you
As an experienced senior nurse leader, you will bring:
· At least 5 years’ post-registration nursing experience
· Relevant postgraduate qualification (or working towards completion)
· Proven leadership capability, ideally with experience at Charge Nurse level
· Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and support staff
· A demonstrated commitment to patient-centred care, quality improvement, and contemporary nursing practice
You will combine clinical credibility with sound organisational skills and a collaborative leadership style, fostering a supportive, family-friendly team environment while driving service excellence and continuous improvement.
