About the Role and Service

As part of the Whangarei Cardiology Service the Clinical Nurse Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of services. You will lead and support a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, nurses, medical radiation technologists (MRTs) and allied health professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, clinical excellence and continuous improvement to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.

As Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading day-to-day service operations and resource management
  • Supporting workforce development, professional growth and staff wellbeing
  • Driving quality improvement and service innovation initiatives
  • Ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient experiences and outcomes
  • Contributing to service planning and the future development of cardiac procedural services across Northland

This is a unique opportunity to influence the future direction of a growing specialist service while playing a key leadership role within our wider Cardiology team.

This is a permanent, full-time position (1.0 FTE) based in Whangarei.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory is a three-day-per-week service that supports both elective and inpatient cardiology care, with currently no out-of-hours primary PCI service for STEMI. With anticipated service growth in the near future, this is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Manager to play an active role in service development, workforce planning, and shaping the future direction of cardiology services across Te Tai Tokerau.

About you

Essential requirements:

  • New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate
  • Post graduate certificate/diploma in speciality nursing practice or health leadership/management
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience post registration in relevant nursing specialty
  • Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory experience
  • Ability to develop successful teamwork and collaborations
  • Ability to implement service delivery plans
  • Effective expression of information both orally and in writing
