About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Educator Resuscitation you will play a vital role in strengthening clinical capability and ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based resuscitation practice across the Lakes rohe. This position provides expert leadership, education, and guidance to staff and community‑based health professionals, promoting safe and effective responses to patient deterioration and cardiac arrest. Grounded in adult learning principles and aligned with national and international professional standards, the educator leads training that ranges from basic CPR to CORE Advanced, while also supporting staff before, during, and after resuscitation events. The role actively contributes to the development of policies, guidelines, and continuous quality improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

In addition to clinical expertise, the role embodies strong partnership responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, championing equitable health outcomes and supporting Māori-led approaches to care. The Resuscitation Educator fosters collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, models professionalism, and cultivates a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement. Through leadership, relationship building, and a commitment to high-quality education, the role ensures that Lakes delivers a robust, responsive, and culturally grounded resuscitation service.

About you

Key experience and professional requirements for the role include:

  • Registered Nurse with a current NCNZ practising certificate and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Proven clinical experience responding effectively in emergency and resuscitation situations.
  • Regular involvement in clinical teaching or education, with a strong commitment to adult‑learning principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and share clinical expertise confidently.
  • Experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice and commitment to equity‑focused, culturally safe care.
