About the Role

Deliver high quality dietetic care in the inpatient wards, supporting patients and whānau to achieve better health outcomes through evidence-based nutrition practice. We are seeking a passionate dietitian with an interest in supporting others to provide outstanding care to our acute inpatients. If you are a motivated, enthusiastic Dietitian with an interest in leading a small team, we would love to hear from you.

Alongside managing a clinical caseload, the inpatient adult clinical lead dietitian will oversee professional and clinical supervision, support the coordination of service delivery, and play a key role in driving quality improvement and service development initiatives

You will be based in Tauranga, with the potential opportunity to provide cover to our colleagues based in Whakatane at times.

The Dietetics Service at Hauora a Toi – Bay of Plenty operates across Tauranga and Whakatāne, delivering care to a diverse population across hospital and community settings. The team is collaborative, supportive, and focused on providing patient centred care that reflects best practice and equity. You will be part of a close-knit team that values shared learning, strong communication, and continuous improvement, while working in a region known for its lifestyle and natural environment.

About You

You are an experienced Dietitian who enjoys the variety of acute practice and values working as part of a collaborative team. Confident in delivering evidence-based nutrition care, you build strong relationships with patients, whānau, and colleagues and are committed to achieving equitable health outcomes, particularly for Māori.

What you will bring:

  • Registration with the Dietitians Board of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in acute adult inpatient care
  • Prior experience in supporting or leading others is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in the Nutrition Care Process and associated terminology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork skills with a focus on achieving patient and whānau-centred outcomes
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice
  • Flexibility to work across Tauranga and provide occasional cover in Whakatāne
  • Commitment to culturally responsive practice and improving equity in health outcomes
