About the Role
The Clinical Equipment Pool Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and maintenance of clinical equipment across North Shore Hospital. This role ensures timely equipment distribution and retrieval, oversees servicing and repairs in collaboration with Clinical Engineering and external providers, and maintains accurate records through asset management systems. Key duties include coordinating Negative Pressure Wound Therapy services, processing invoices and ACC billing, managing equipment cleaning and infection control standards, conducting audits, supporting asset commissioning and calibration, and maintaining stock levels. The role also provides training to orderlies, assists with purchasing and stock control, and delivers responsive, customer-focused support to clinical teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong organisational skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be a natural problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high level of computer literacy (including Microsoft Excel and Word), and a strong customer-focused approach. Adaptable and flexible, you will work effectively within a team while maintaining professionalism and discretion. Cultural awareness and the ability to engage respectfully with a diverse community are essential.
You will ideally bring experience within the New Zealand healthcare environment, particularly in coordinating and maintaining clinical equipment or working as an orderly. A sound understanding of medical devices, equipment pool operations, maintenance requirements, and safety protocols will set you apart. Familiarity with Oracle FPIM and HxGN EAM asset management systems is advantageous. A current full New Zealand driver’s licence and relevant qualifications (such as NCEA Level 3 or equivalent, and Moving and Handling/CPR Level 3) are required.
