The Haematology Service at Auckland City Hospital is comprised of a 30 bed Inpatient unit, a Haematology Day Stay Unit and Outpatient clinics. The regional BMT service covers Northland and the greater Auckland region for autologous and allograft transplants and includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes and Tairawhiti Districts for allogeneic transplants.

 

About the Role:

We have a permanent fulltime position for a senior nursing role and is responsible for the provision of clinical expertise and leadership for the inpatient Haematology ward. We are looking for a highly motivated, progressive and innovative nurse who will be able to strengthen the nursing care delivery and work collaboratively within the Haematology teams. The team includes Haematologists, Fellows, Registrars, House officers, Charge nurse, Nurse specialists, a Nurse educator, Allied health and Registered Nurses who are all focused on improving the quality of care and providing a positive experience for patients and their whanau.

As the CCN, you will:

  • Manage the day-to-day requirements of the service delivery
  • Ensure that delivery contributes to a better patient experience and health outcomes and is in line with organisational requirements.
  • Ensure communication with the team is in line with the vision and values of Te Toka Tumai.

About You:

We are looking for the following skills and experience

  • A commitment to biculturalism
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • New Zealand nursing registration, RGON, RN BHSc (Nursing)
  • Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in speciality nursing practice
  • Working Towards completion of master’s degree
  • Minimum of five years’ experience post registration in relevant nursing specialty
  • Minimum level 3 with expert Haematology clinical practice
  • Sound understanding of professional ethics
  • Chemotherapy Certified
