About the Role

As a Business Analyst, you will help shape the future state of healthcare services across Te Tai Tokerau by working alongside clinical and operational teams to understand, document, and redesign workflows that will support the delivery of high-quality patient care in new and upgraded hospital environments.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Pihi Kaha transformation programme, one of the most significant healthcare developments in the region. You'll engage with clinicians, managers, and stakeholders to map current and future state processes, analyse service demands and capacity, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure new clinical and business support environments are designed to be efficient, effective, and fit for the future. Your work will directly influence how services are delivered and experienced by our communities for years to come.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Hospital Development team is leading the planning and transformation of future healthcare facilities and service models across Te Tai Tokerau. Working closely with the Pihi Kaha programme, the team partners with clinicians, leaders, project specialists, and stakeholders to ensure hospital development initiatives deliver improved outcomes for patients, whānau, and communities.

Based in Whangarei, this role may involve travel to other Northland sites as required.

About you

As an experienced Business Analyst, you’ll be comfortable working in complex environments, bringing people together, analysing information, and translating operational needs into practical solutions. You will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Business Analyst, Process Improvement, Service Design, or similar role.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across clinical, operational, and project teams.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, mapping workflows, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills, including proficiency with Excel and experience using data to support decision-making (Power BI and SQL experience would be advantageous).
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and all communities.
