About the Role
The Associate Lead – Women and Children’s is a newly established role within our Pharmacy Service, offering an opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to provide clinical and professional leadership across Women’s Health, Paediatrics, and Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU).
In this pivotal position, you will use your hospital experience and clinical pharmacy expertise to lead a dedicated team delivering care to complex patients. You will act as a key clinical resource across the service and wider organisation, leading the delivery and ongoing development of pharmacy services to improve outcomes for women, infants, children, and their whānau. There may be opportunities for pharmacist prescribing activities within this role
This position is integral to driving excellence in pharmacy practice, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and mentoring the next generation of pharmacists. The Health New Zealand Waikato Pharmacy Service provides essential pharmacy services to Waikato Hospital and rural hospitals, as well as tertiary advisory and support services to the Te Manawa Taki region. Our team is vital to the effective operation of healthcare, upholding the highest standards in pharmaceutical supply, medicines safety, and clinical services. About you
Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
- Current Annual Practising Certificate with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand
- A postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or a relevant specialty
- Minimum of eight years’ post‑registration pharmacy experience, including at least five years in a hospital or comparable clinical setting.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical practice across NICU, Paediatrics, and Women’s Health.
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
