About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic Ambulatory Clerical Team Leader who is ready to make a real impact. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind a large team so we need someone who brings energy, precision, and purpose to everything they do. As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for a team of administrators who assist and provide services to the Outpatient and Tui Te Ora departments and are a frontline, patient facing team. You will bridge the gap between our outpatient department and other key services.
A typical day will involve:
- Line management of staff performing administration roles within the Ambulatory Clerical team, receptionists, administrators, schedulers and referral centre staff.
- Championing data quality
- Providing regular and ad hoc reports. Ensuring effective and efficient day to day operation of the referral processes, appointment scheduling and waitlist management, including meeting timeframes and quality expectations.

The Ambulatory Clerical team is an exceptional team of receptionists, administrators, clerks, schedulers who work across Outpatients, Tui Te Ora and Referral Centre spaces. They play a vital part in supporting our clinical teams to see patients and their whanau throughout their health journey.
From receiving referrals, to waitlist management, making appointments and working towards Health Targets, this high-performing team is seeking a leader who will advocate, collaborate and strive for the best outcomes for all.

About you
- Strong people and customer focus
- The ability to motivate, empower and foster a positive team culture
- The ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people
- A can-do, problem solving attitude with a willingness to learn
- Confidence in leading and managing a mid-size team across three spaces
- Planning and organisational skills
- Familiarity with patient management systems (not essential)
- KPI management, data quality and reporting skills
- Previous experience providing training to staff members (would be advantageous)
- Customer service team lead or office administration/management background and/or similar experience
