About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, general all - rounder administrator to join our Service This position is based in our Hastings office, which is off the Hospital grounds. The working week is Monday to Friday, and there is the ability to negotiate how the hours are divided across the week; however, the ability to work on Fridays is essential.
We need a ‘can do’ person with great interpersonal skills to keep our administrative services humming. You will be part of a small team of two with a colleague based in the Napier office so the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a large team is crucial to us.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Engage Community Allied Health employ around 50 staff including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Dietitians, Speech Language Therapists, Clinical Nurse Specialists - Gerontology, Allied Health Assistants, Administrators and our Fracture Liaison Service who all work together to achieve the best outcomes for our consumers. We have two established teams set up in Hastings and Napier. What we are offering you is to become part of a service that cares about their community and their team. About you
We are looking for a ‘can do’ person who has a passion for doing whatever it takes to support our most vulnerable to live their best life. No two days will look the same, there will never be a shortage of work but we will have lots of fun along the way and provide a great team spirit. The administrator provides a crucial support role to our registered clinicians.
You will also need the following key attributes and skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Internet resources. Being a whizz on Excel would be an advantage.
- Administration experience within a health setting would be an advantage.
- Effective communication skills.
- Understand the importance of being a team player.
- Ability to build rapport and constructive and effective relationships.
- Positive attitude with problem solving focus.
- Ability to contribute positively to the interprofessional / multidisciplinary team.
- Self-motivated in developing clinical and professional practice.
- Focus on delivering high quality intervention for the client/patient and whānau.
- Demonstrate self - awareness of your impact on people and invests in your own leadership practice to continuously grow and improve.
- Demonstrate the highest standards of personal, professional and institutional behaviour through commitment, loyalty and integrity
