Women’s Health Service
Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Waitematā
The New Zealand Female Pelvic Mesh Service is a new national service delivered from two hubs, Northern and Southern, with Waitematā District being the host for the Northern hub covering all of the North Island. A multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) approach will coordinate the service delivery for women and their Whānau to determine the best possible treatment options whilst linking in with appropriate home based services around the North Island. The service will be staffed by a wide range of medical and allied health practitioners delivering holistic patient centred care for women who have experienced significant complications from pelvic mesh implants and are eligible for free health and disability care in New Zealand, irrespective of their eligibility for Treatment Injury cover with Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).
We have an exciting and innovative opportunity to build a specialist MDT who will coordinate and provide support to these women. An advanced clinician in social work is seen as an integral part of the MDT team. Understanding that this work will need to be flexible in nature, the social worker will have options to work remotely as well as in reaching to hospital and outpatient services to support the women attending clinics with pre and post-operative care.
We are seeking an experienced social worker who has specialised knowledge, skills, and qualifications in working alongside women experiencing chronic health issues and assisting them in managing the psychosocial aspects of their living situations.
We are looking for an advanced clinician to establish, report on, and develop systems and processes for the long term success of this service.
