About the Role

The contribution our Cleaners make is integral to maintaining a safe & hygienic environment for our patients, their whānau, and our staff. As a Cleaner, you will do something you can be proud of every day as you play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone within our hospital. Our dedicated team of Cleaners work around the clock in our hospitals, and we are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team on a permanent, part time basis.

About Us

Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Waitematā provides health services to approximately 500,000 residents in the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any health district.

North Shore Hospital is accessed by Shakespeare Road in Takapuna, and is situated on the shores of Lake Pupuke. The ward tower block overlooks the Rangitoto Channel and the majestic Rangitoto Island on one side, and the Waitemata Harbour with views extending towards Auckland City on the other.

About you

We are looking for someone with the below skills and attributes:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good command of verbal and written English
  • Respectful and courteous towards patients and colleagues
  • Reliable and available to pick up shifts at short notice
  • Motivated to engage in mandatory staff training sessions (may include operating floor care machinery)
  • Ability to follow duty lists and safety protocols as well as instructions for specialised cleaning equipment
  • Flexible and able to adapt to unexpected changes within the busy hospital environment
