About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Wayfinder/Taiurungi, as part of the Waiariki Mana Ake Programme in Taupo and Turangi. The role presents a phenomenal opportunity to make a positive difference.

As a Wayfinder, you will be responsible for delivering early interventional health and wellbeing guidance, support and service within primary schools and kuapapa Māori kura. The Mana Ake service is led by health but delivered in collaboration with education, enabling the delivery of support where initial discovery of wellbeing need is often identified in a community setting. 

About the Team/Service/ Location

Waiariki Mana Ake is expanding the reach of the service and looking for candidates with a passion for mental wellbeing. 

The clinical mental health and wellbeing workforce deliver evidence informed individual, group and whole of class wellbeing programmes / interventions for tamariki, as well as broader wellbeing cluster support to schools and kura.

The role will be based in the Waiariki region. It is essential that applicants are based within the region as the role is not suitable for remote work.

About You

As a Wayfinder you will be: 

  • Well experienced in working with community, tamariki and whānau
  • Phenomenal relationship skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • A full driver’s license
  • Computer competency
  • Adaptable and able to pivot within a rapidly changing environment
