Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist

We are looking for an experienced paediatric Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our Community Child Health Team based at Waitakere Hospital in the role of Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist.
The role is to provide developmental therapy in the home or community setting for infants and children (0-2 years) working three days a week (0.6FTE) in a fixed-term position covering parental leave for approximately 6 months.
You will be joining an experienced and highly skilled multi-disciplinary paediatric community team who are committed to innovative best practice in the context of child-focussed/family centred care, that is based on the family and child’s strengths and goals. About the Role
As a Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist in the Community Child Health Team, you will be working in a transdisciplinary model, to provide developmental support to infants and young children (0-2 years) with a wide range of developmental difficulties. You will be based in the Child Health Unit at Waitakere Hospital, from where you will connect with whanau and colleagues to plan and provide care in the home or other community setting.
You will have opportunities to grow in skill and knowledge in this role and be provided regular supervision to support your ongoing professional development.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Community Child Health Team is made up of dedicated allied health and nursing clinicians who share a passion for supporting children and their whanau who are faced with various health and disability challenges to live their best lives at home. Working in collaboration and in partnership with our whanau is central to our work, as is the drive to be strengths based. They are a hard-working team, that are closely connected - supporting each other on a daily basis, but who also enjoy bringing a sense of fun to their work environment.

About you
For this role you will need to have:
· A current APC registered as a NZ physiotherapist or occupational therapist
· Knowledge and experience in the areas of neonates, early child development and neurology
· A full NZ driver’s license
· A passion for working with young children and their whanau
