About the Role
As a Unit Charge MIT, you will lead a dedicated team in delivering safe and high-quality imaging services across key clinical areas. Your day-to-day will involve overseeing staff training, maintaining imaging protocols, and working closely with teams including Radiologists, Clinics (Plastics, Respiratory, Orthopaedics etc), Wards, and General Practitioners.
You will play a vital role in service delivery by guiding imaging staff, managing workflow, and ensuring all procedures are clinically appropriate, timely, and technically excellent. With your leadership, the imaging team will maintain high standards, support collaborative care, and continue improving outcomes for patients across the board.

Our Medical Imaging team (of nearly 50 MITs) deliver diagnostic imaging services across a broad range of specialties. We are a collaborative, multidisciplinary service committed to clinical excellence, patient-centred care, and staff development.
About Hamilton
Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. About you
As a Unit Charge MIT, you will bring a combination of technical expertise and leadership experience. You are passionate about safe imaging practice and fostering team development. You will have:
- Registration with the relevant professional body and a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Demonstrated experience in diagnostic radiography, including fluoroscopy and outpatient imaging
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical imaging setting
- Strong ability to train, mentor, and support MITs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across clinical disciplines
