- Primarily based in either Biochemistry (2 roles) or Haematology (1 role) departments
- Roles will include 24/7 rostered shifts covering all core disciplines
About the Role
Are you a registered Medical Laboratory Scientist looking for an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment? Come and join our dynamic and supportive team working within the core sections of Biochemistry and Haematology. Due to recent staff advancements, multiple positions are now available within our large, state-of-the-art tertiary hospital laboratory. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic tests, ensuring quality results, and contributing to patient care in a collaborative setting. In addition to the core role, opportunities for specialist training are possible for candidates with suitable skills.

About the Team/Service
Our laboratory is an integral part of the wider laboratory services at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato, servicing inpatients, outpatients and community patients of the Manawa Taki region. The laboratory service is situated over five sites, our central laboratory at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton and our satellite laboratories in Tokoroa, Thames, Taumarunui and Te Kuiti hospitals.
About you
- Registration with the Medical Science Council NZ and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) are essential
- Up to date knowledge of laboratory practice is desired
- Experience with Roche analysers and track systems, Sysmex Haematology analysers and STAGO coagulation analysers is desirable
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
