  • Tracking System Administrator – Central Sterile Sciences Department
  • Permanent, full time role working Monday to Friday
  • Based at North Shore Hospital

PLEASE NOTE, THIS ROLE IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF HEALTH NEW ZEALAND. WE'RE UNABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FROM PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF OUR ORGANISATION.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the technology and operational systems that support the Central Sterile Sciences Department (CSSD) at Health NZ Waitematā. Rather than being a traditional administration position, this role sits at the intersection of healthcare operations, technology, process improvement, and stakeholder support. You'll take ownership of the department's electronic instrument tracking system, ensuring it runs effectively, supporting users, maintaining data integrity, and helping staff get the most out of the system in their day-to-day work.

You'll work closely with clinical and operational teams, leading system improvements, managing reporting and analytics, creating work instructions and documentation, supporting hardware and software, and coordinating system upgrades and enhancements. The role also involves training staff, troubleshooting issues, working with external vendors, and identifying opportunities to further develop the tracking system to improve efficiency, quality, and patient outcomes. It's a hands-on, varied position that would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, working with technology, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Have experience supporting and maintaining applications, systems, or databases.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ideally have experience working within a healthcare environment and an understanding of sterile sciences or medical devices.

You'll be a highly organised, self-motivated professional with excellent communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities, you'll have a methodical approach to your work, strong problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to build effective relationships with staff, vendors, and stakeholders. Experience with project work, desktop support, systems administration, reporting, or process improvement would be highly regarded.
