About the Role
This is a pivotal role within Radiation Oncology, you will provide confidential, timely, and proactive administrative support to the Service Clinical Director and Operations Leadership team. Your responsibilities will include managing complex calendars, coordinating rosters, booking clinics, and organising meetings and events—all while ensuring our patients’ care pathways run seamlessly.
Your work will directly support clinical teams to deliver world-class cancer care without avoidable delays, making a real difference for patients and their whānau. Manage diaries, rosters, clinic schedules, and leave tracking for medical staff. Coordinate meetings, travel, events, and documentation with accuracy and professionalism. Act as the first point of contact for queries—responding promptly and escalating when required. Maintain high visibility within the department to support clinical teams and service operations. Contribute to process improvements that enhance service efficiency and patient experience.

About the Team/Service/Location
As a Team Administrator in Te Pūriri o Te Ora – Regional Cancer and Blood Service, you will play a vital role in supporting a multidisciplinary clinical team that provides care to approximately 1.7 million people across the Auckland region. Based at Auckland City Hospital, you will work alongside doctors, nurse specialists, allied health professionals, outpatient schedulers, and administrators to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service.
You will be joining a team of experienced administrators in Te Pūriri o Te Ora, working collaboratively to keep our service operating at its best

About you
- Proven experience in a senior-level administrative role (minimum 2 years).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and calendar/email management.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a high degree of discretion.
- Commitment to biculturalism and achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.
Experience in the health sector and familiarity with hospital services, and rostering systems is desirable.
