About the Role
Are you a recent graduate in Health Science or a related field looking to start your career in healthcare?
We are seeking a Team Administrator – Specialist Outpatient Services to join our Adult Community and Long-Term Conditions Directorate. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within outpatient services, working closely with clinical teams and supporting patient care coordination.
You’ll be part of a busy, supportive, and collaborative environment where you’ll learn how healthcare services operate day-to-day while contributing to high-quality patient outcomes.Your primary place of work will be Greenlane Clinical Centre.
In this role, you will:
- Support the smooth running of outpatient clinics through a wide range of administrative tasks
- Provide administrative support to clinicians, managers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Coordinate patient appointments and respond to enquiries from patients, whānau, and healthcare providers
- Manage rosters and leave processes using internal systems
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain clinical documentation systems
- Prepare meeting minutes, reports, and presentations
- Coordinate purchasing and manage clinical/non-clinical supplies and assets (e.g., equipment, IT, fleet)
- Liaise with internal teams and external providers to support service delivery
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and project work

About you
We’re looking for someone who is motivated, organised, and eager to learn:
Essential:
- Qualification in Health Sciences or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equitable health outcomes
Desirable (but not required):
- Exposure to healthcare environments or medical terminology
- Experience with health information systems
- Interest in healthcare operations or service improvement
