About the Role

As a Store Person within our Supply Chain team, you will support the safe, accurate and timely management of all medical and non ‑ medical stock for Hawke’s Bay Hospital. This includes receiving and dispatching goods, maintaining inventory integrity, completing stock rotation, delivering supplies to departments, managing imprest stock levels and keeping storerooms tidy and accessible.

You’ll work closely with clinical and non ‑ clinical teams, ensuring they receive the products they need on time and in full. You will also help maintain warehouse standards, support stocktakes and cycle counts, and respond to urgent or unscheduled supply requests.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, fast ‑ paced work, has strong customer service skills and values being part of a team that keeps hospital operations flowing smoothly.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Supply Chain team at Hawke’s Bay Hospital is responsible for warehouse operations, distribution and inventory management across the hospital and associated services. You’ll join a friendly team that takes pride in delivering dependable, efficient service to support high ‑ quality patient care.

About you

You’re reliable, organised and great with people. You will have:

  • General warehousing experience.
  • Experience using inventory management or ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proven computer skills (MS Office, stock systems).
  • Class 1 driver’s licence.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equitable service delivery.

Desired:

  • Forklift licence (H&S and/or Class F).
  • One year of experience in an FMG warehouse.
  • Experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.

Physical requirements:

  • Able to walk stairs, kneel, squat and lift up to 20kg.
