About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and organised individual to work in a small team who provide operational oversight and coordination of the New Zealand Spinal Cord Injury Registry (NZSCIR) and its functions, under the direction of the NZSCIR Chairperson and Governance Committee, and the local Spinal Service Manager.

You will play a key role in ensuring spinal cord injury data is accurate, complete, secure and effectively managed, supporting improved outcomes for people living with spinal cord injury across acute, rehabilitation and community services and include onsite duties at the Auckland Spinal Rehab Unit and Middlemore Hospital.

The role also includes supporting research and data requests, maintaining ethical and regulatory standards, and contributing to regular reporting and quality improvement activities. This is a varied role requiring strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

This is a part-time position working 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit. Hours and days are negotiable with the successful candidate.

About you:

We are looking for someone who brings a combination of relevant experience, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

You will ideally have:

• A relevant tertiary-level qualification in health or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years' experience in spinal cord injury, rehabilitation services, or a similar relevant clinical or research field.
• An understanding of, and experience working with, health-related terminology, structures and processes.
• Experience with quality and/or process improvement methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritisation, planning skills and attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of medico-legal and ethical responsibilities within healthcare.
• Experience in customer service and/or demonstrated strong communication capability.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as a key member of a team.
