About the Role
If you are a qualified speech-language therapist who is looking for a challenge, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for an SLT with enthusiasm, a focus on evidence based practice and preferably some previous experience with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.
You would be joining a forward thinking, innovative team of SLTs who work across North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals. This includes our brand new 150-bed hospital, Totara Haumaru, on our North Shore site, and Manaaki Hōhonu, a new medical ward and HDU being built at Waitakere. Our SLT team is small, and our culture of openness and shared learning is strong. You would work in partnership with your senior SLTs, the SLT advanced clinician, and alongside the SLT Clinical Leader and SLT Professional Clinical Leader.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Clinically, you would work primarily in the rehab and acute inpatient wards, alongside the other SLTs at Waitakere Hospital and IDT colleagues, to ensure best practice across the care continuum. Due to our focus on equity for patient, we prioritise across sites, this means you may at times be asked to work at North Shore Hospital, or you may be working independently at Waitakere Hospital.
Here at Health NZ - Waitematā, we provide a 7-day per week SLT service, offering our patients care on weekends and allowing our staff the financial and roster benefits of a weekend service. You would be expected to participate equitably in providing this service.
