About the Role
As a Speech Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, effective, and culturally responsive care to patients across the Hawke’s Bay inpatient wards. Your day will involve assessing and treating individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties, working closely with whānau and multidisciplinary teams to develop tailored intervention plans.
You’ll be responsible for managing a caseload with increasing complexity, applying clinical reasoning, and contributing to discharge planning and service improvement initiatives.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Allied Health Therapies team is based within the Hawke’s Bay inpatient wards and works across Te Whata Moanarua Allied Health Service.
We are a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care that reflects the values of Te Whatu Ora and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. About you
As a Speech Language Therapist, you will bring:
- A recognised Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy and current NZ registration with an Annual Practising Certificate
- Clinical experience relevant to the role, including assessment and intervention planning
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with patients, whānau, and colleagues
- A commitment to culturally safe practice and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A clean full NZ driver’s licence and proficiency in Microsoft Office
