About the Role
The Ultrasound service at Waikato Hospital consists of 8 high-end machines and provides general ultrasound imaging to inpatient, outpatient and obstetric services within a tertiary hospital. We service a large catchment area and are exposed to lots of different pathologies and interesting cases.
Day to day, you will provide comprehensive imaging in trauma, inpatient and outpatient settings. You will also work in collaboration with other health professionals + multi-disciplinary teams.

About Hamilton
Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. About you
- Use independent judgment during the ultrasound study to acquire and assess information obtained
- Coordinate bookings and scheduling of workload
- Assume responsibility of safety of patients while they are in the sonographer's care
- Assist in maintaining equipment and work area and maintain adequate supplies.
- registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologist Board
- current practising certificate within the general scope of practice
- DMU or equivalent post graduate recognised sonography qualification
- excellent communication skills
- strong professional judgement
