An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Sleep Physiologist and join our passionate and multi-disciplinary sleep team at Rotorua hospital.
About the role
The Respiratory and Sleep service is part of Medical Services and provides a range of sleep diagnostic and treatment options for adults with sleep disorder breathing.
Scope of Role:
- To work as part of a team coordinating home-based sleep studies.
- To help maintain a smooth and efficient service, including timely response to patient enquiries.
- Troubleshooting patient problems with their masks and machines
- To analyse and report on sleep studies in a timely manner, following international standards.
- To facilitate Group CPAP education sessions and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) follow-up clinics in Rotorua, and twice a month in Taupo.
- To liaise with the Respiratory-Sleep physicians with regard to the management of complex sleep patients, including adherence to the NZTA Guidelines for Medical Aspects of Fitness to Drive.

About you
You should have:
- Experience working in a sleep service
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Current full driver's license
- Bachelor of Science - Physiology/Anatomy
- Recognised tertiary qualification in sleep
- Completion of the New Zealand Sleep Certification examination (NZSCE) or the Australia & NZ Sleep Science Association competency exam
- Membership with the professional society for sleep physiologists - (ANZSSA)
- Registration and APC with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board (CPRB)
