About the Role
We are seeking a Sexual Health Specialist to join our small but dedicated team providing specialist sexual and reproductive health services.
This role supports services across both Taranaki and Tairāwhiti, with care delivered primarily through a remote model, complemented by regular on-site presence (typically monthly) in each region. There is flexibility in how work is structured to support effective service delivery across both areas. Practitioners already working within Health NZ may be able to combine this role with their existing position, allowing for flexible allocation of their time across services.
The role includes providing clinical expertise and oversight for complex sexual and reproductive health care, including services for people living with HIV. The role also includes providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff, medical officers, and medical students within the sexual health service.

About you
· A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification
· Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
· Registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Council of New Zealand
· Hold a higher qualification appropriate to the clinical specialty which is recognised by the Medical Council of New Zealand for Vocational Registration in Sexual Health Medicine
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills
· Commitment to holistic and equitable patient care
