About the Role

  • Join the Anaesthetics department as a senior registrar.
  • ·      Assist in the provision of day patient Anaesthetic services in accordance with professional standards and protocols as established by consultants with high quality patient care being the primary focus.
  • Your roster will allow for you to enjoy all that Rotorua has to offer with longer summers and shorter winters.

About the Team/Service/ Location

  • Join our dynamic team at Lakes Anaesthetic Department, serving a population of 116,000 people. Located within Rotorua Hospital, we provide secondary level specialties, with tertiary care available at Waikato Hospital.
  • We are part of the Te Manawa Taki/Midlands Anaesthesia Training Rotation, along with Tauranga and Waikato Hospitals. An application to this position is considered an application to the training rotation. The Rotational Supervisor and Supervisors of Training shortlist, interview and appoint collectively as a rotational committee. It is typical to progress to Waikato Hospital to continue training after a year at Rotorua Hospital.
  • Lakes is located in the central North Island of New Zealand - Aotearoa. Rotorua is located approximately 230 kilometers (143 miles) southeast of Auckland, while Taupō is located approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) south of Rotorua.
  • Lakes is a geothermal wonderland and is also home to several scenic lakes, including Lake Taupō, the largest lake in New Zealand. Rotorua and Taupō are the go-to places for hiking, mountain biking, and water sports; you can also dive into traditional experiences and learn more about Māori culture in the region.

About you

  • MCNZ registration and or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz
  • Rotorua Hospital offers positions accredited by ANZCA for one year of training time.
  •       Current Practicing Certificate.
  •       Member of Medical Protection Society or equivalent
  • ·     Hold current ACLS level 7 certification (or equivalent)
