Senior Physiotherapist - Neurosurgical

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced New Zealand registered Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy team within Neurosurgery. This is a Senior, permanent, full-time role based at Auckland Hospital and offers the opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership capabilities and work within a great team including Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy and the wider Interdisciplinary team.
Main roles and responsibilities:
- Managing a clinical caseload providing comprehensive and evidence-based care to neurosurgical patients within the high dependency unit and acute ward including but not limited to, trauma, traumatic brain injuries, subarachnoid haemorrhages, tumour resections and spinal surgeries.
- Working collaboratively in an IDT
- Driving quality improvement within the neurosurgical area
- Providing clinical and operational leadership within both the neurosurgery and wider acute Surgical Team
- Being prepared to take on delegated responsibilities from the practice supervisor as required

Our team is made up of passionate and supportive Physiotherapists motivated to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of the communities we serve. Our team consists of 87.9FTE, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

About you
As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:
- New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- At least 6 years clinical experience with significant experience working in acute neurology/neurosurgery.
- Experience in tracheostomy weaning as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A flexible and proactive approach
- Experience in supporting staff and students
- Effective communication and inter-personal skills
- Effective time management, prioritisation, and organisation skills
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to provide culturally safe care in the acute hospital environment
