About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team in Taupō, providing expert support to our rural clinical pharmacy service, with a focus on Oncology and Haematology services. As part of a rural-based service, this role requires a pharmacist who is adaptable and clinically confident, able to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care across specialty (oncology and haematology) and generalist inpatient settings while supporting equitable access to services for a rural and regional population. This pivotal role requires exemplary clinical knowledge to ensure safe and effective medication management for complex patients. You will be instrumental in collaborative practice, working alongside doctors, nurses and pharmacists across 2 hospital sites to drive quality improvement and patient safety on the unit. Beyond your specialty area, your expertise will support general clinical and operational pharmacy duties on a rostered basis (including ward and dispensary coverage).
- Registered Pharmacist (with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand) with current APC and at least 3-5years clinical experience.
- Flexible team player, with a diligent approach to your work.
- Problem-solver with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, excellent time management skills, be consistent, reliable and accurate in your work.
- Very high standard of ethical and professional practice.
- Customer service focused.
- Good sense of humor and willing to share their experience and expertise with the rest of the team
