About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical pharmacist to join our team at Waikato Hospital as a Senior Pharmacist – Older Persons and Rehabilitation. This newly established role has been created to strengthen clinical pharmacy leadership, support service growth, and ensure high-quality medicines management. There may be opportunities for pharmacist prescriber services within this role.

As a senior member of the clinical pharmacy team, you will provide leadership and mentorship to pharmacists working across the Older Persons and Rehabilitation wards. These services care for older adults with complex health needs across a range of specialties including geriatrics, stroke, neurology, and orthopaedic rehabilitation.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimise medicines management and improve patient outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and grow this service within a tertiary hospital environment while working in a supportive, patient-focused team.

As a valued member of our Pharmacy Service team, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to support your professional growth. Enjoy funding for further studies, courses, and conferences, as well as support for your APC and membership fees. We offer competitive remuneration with automatic annual increases, 5 weeks of annual leave after 5 years of service, and additional long service leave, ensuring a rewarding balance between your career and personal life.

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the Te Whatu Ora/PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific & Technical Collective Agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), professional development and wellness support.
