  • Do you have an Occupational Therapy qualification and registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ? We are looking for an Occupational Therapist | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau to join our team.

About the Role

This role is with Community Services, based in Hamilton, however, may support larger Waikato District when required. In this role, you will provide occupational therapy services to clients within their home environment. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team.

You will manage your own caseload and wait list. Ideally, candidates will be Enable housing and wheelchair level 1 accredited, however training will be provided for the successful candidate if required.

About the Team/Service

Allied Health is a department of the Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services. Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with. Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.

About you

The skills and experience you will need to be considered for the role are:

  • Minimum of 12 months post qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process.
  • Rehabilitation experience.
  • Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice.
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Current full New Zealand driver licence.
