We have a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team at Tamaki Oranga Recovery Centre – a 20-bed all male inpatient mental health rehabilitation unit that provides care for tāngata whaiora with enduring mental health needs.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will bring clinical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to recovery-oriented practice. This is your chance to influence outcomes, promote health equity, and support a culturally responsive, whaanau-centred model of care.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for providing high-level occupational therapy services within an interdisciplinary team. This includes:

  • Comprehensive assessment and intervention for tāngata whaiora with complex mental health needs
  • Supporting functional recovery through engagement in meaningful occupation
  • Providing clinical leadership, mentoring and supervision to others in the occupational therapy team
  • Actively participating in quality improvement and service development initiatives
  • Collaborating with colleagues and community supports to ensure seamless care delivery

This role is ideal for someone passionate about working in mental health rehabilitation and making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

About You:

  • NZ registration as an Occupational Therapist and a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working in mental health and addiction services
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and supervise
  • Knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equity and culturally safe practice
  • A full NZ driver’s licence
