About the Role
Join our Nutrition and Dietetic team as an exceptional and experience New Zealand Registered Dietitian. In this role you will provide clinical leadership within the team or service and assist in developing the clinical capability of others. As a Senior Dietitian, you will work alongside another oncology dietitian to provide nutrition care for our patients across the region and support service development.
As a Dietitian, you will provide patient/whanau centred care which is safe, effective and outcome focused. The role is primarily clinical and includes a leadership / management component for Core Dietitians. Specific objectives for your role will be agreed separately with your line manager as part of your annual performance planning process.

About the Service/Location
Cancer & Blood services currently provide both Haematology and Medical Oncology out-patient services including SACT administration. You will be working alongside a wide team of multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver Radiation Oncology. The new Radiation oncology build is due to open in mid 2026, completing cancer care provided in Te Tai Tokerau – Great news for our patients!

About you
To be successful in this role, you will be great at prioritising, managing time, and delegating tasks effectively and bring strong clinical skills and a deep passion for education and teaching others.
- Qualification in dietetics, as recognised by the New Zealand Dietitians Board.
- Current registration with the New Zealand Dietitians Board, with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Minimum of four years post-graduate experience including a minimum of two within area of specialty
- Experience of translating evidence into practice
- Professional portfolio of evidence
- Current New Zealand Driver’s Licence
- Be an excellent communicator with proven time management skills
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
Whilst not essential, candidates that have senior clinician experience in current or previous roles, experience in supervising staff/students and clinical audit/research are desired.
