About the Role
We are looking for a Registered Nurse who have an interest in Paediatrics and who will meet the needs of patients and their family/whanau using contemporary nursing care which is safe, appropriate and effective. We have Permanent, full time and part time vacancies available in our Paediatric Orthopaedic Ward at Starship Children's Hospital.
Ward 24A is a 25 bedded paediatric ward specialising in treating children with disorders of bones, joints and muscles. Children usually stay 1-3 days. However, some long-stay patients (such as patients with osteomyelitis) can stay for six weeks. Common admissions include fractured bones, bone or joint infections, disorders of the formation of joints, disorders of the growth of bones, clubfoot and scoliosis. Nursing clinical skills specific to this area include traction, VPAP, pain modalities, wound care management PICO and VAC dressings.

About you
As the ideal candidate for this role you will:
- RGN, RGON, RPN, RCpN with or without BN or BHSC (Nursing)
- have or be eligible for registration with NZ Nursing Council.
- Paediatric Nursing experience
- have a strong commitment to quality care
- be capable of working within a multi–disciplinary team.
- have well-developed communication, critical thinking skills and a commitment to family centred care
- have a positive attitude, an innovative and adaptable approach to practice
