Part-time (0.4 FTE), permanent position
Enhanced School Based Health Services Programme
Are you passionate about improving youth health?
We’re looking for a youth-friendly nurse vaccinator to join our Enhanced School Based Health Services (ESBHS) team across the Te Toka Tumai Auckland and Waitematā Districts.
ESBHS is a funded primary care service delivered in low-decile secondary schools. Our youth health nurses provide high-quality, effective, and safe care to adolescents in a school-based setting.
About the role
In this roaming nurse role you will work alongside school nurses to deliver a high quality, effective and safe immunisation service, to adolescents enrolled in the Enhanced School Based Health Services schools.
We’re currently recruiting for 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week), in a role shared with 1.2FTE existing nurse vaccinators. The programme operates Monday to Friday, with a base at Greenlane Clinical Centre.
About you
You’re youth-focused, approachable, and confident working independently. You bring strong clinical assessment skills, a can-do attitude, and excellent communication abilities. You will be innovative and independent, and able to engage with a range of stakeholders such as School Based Health Service nurses, General Practitioners, school management, Primary Health Organisations and the Aotearoa Immunisation Register (AIR) team, to provide best practice clinical services across the Programme.
To be considered, you must:
- Be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current Practising Certificate
- Have an Authorised Vaccinator Certification
- Have had experience in youth health or primary care
- Be passionate about youth health and committed to working at the top of your scope
Ideally, you’ll hold a postgraduate qualification (preferably in Youth Health Nursing), or be willing to undertake further study.
